The narrow shiny dark green leaves have small teeth turn an attractive reddish purple in fall. Insignificant fall flowers give way to papery wing like seed pods that mature mid fall. Grows best with full sun and rich well drained soils. Frontier has good resistance to dutch elm disease, elm yellows, and elm leaf beetles. Can tolerate
