British Pith Helmet Dated 1942 Luftwaffe Daggers and Swords this unit was renamed asBritish Pith Helmet Dated 1942 This is a good example of a British wartime pith helmet. These helmets were made of a hardened cork material, covered in khaki cotton drill material. Underneath this is lined in a silver foil to reflect the tropical sun. You can actually see a hint of this silver foil if you look inside, at the center of the cap. The top of the cap has a ventilation button. There is the khaki colored center band as well. There is one
