Medium/full bodied and with a hint of austerity

It is very similar to the bottle tasted blind at the Southwold tasting

It is certainly less opulently gregarious than bottles tasted within the first decade of its life

Philippe Pacalet, Pommard Vintage:2017 This lovely effort is a(from Les Trois Follots, Les Vaumuriens, Rugiens Hauts villages and La Vache). Ripe and very fresh aromas blend notes of red and dark pinot fruit with those of violet and cool earth. There is outstanding intensity to the rather refined medium weight flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the youthfully austere finish that also could use a bit more depth to achieve the upper end of my projected range.
