Omothymus violaceopes 3/4” checkout_work Described in 2015 from thesize 3 4 One of my favorite Asian arboreal species. Described by Henry Charles Abraham of the U. K. in 1924 originally as Lampropelma violaceopedes. Later in 2015 it was moved to the Omothymus genus by Smith & Jacobi. This is a large arboreal spider with an attitude. Its beautiful royal blue color and long slender body can get up to 8 9. Having one of these rear up in a threat posture is quite the sight, and they often do.
